KER39 – 2009 CUSTOM KEEL PROJECT
The IRC rule changes in 2009 required the yacht to be modified to provide an advantage according to its own rating value.
The keel was cast using 99.99% pure lead and GGG60 type spheroidal graphite cast iron, then machined with ±1 mm precision on CNC machines. The finished components were shipped to the keel in Cowes, UK.
