KER40+ – CHRISTOPHER DRAGON 2018 KEEL PROJECT
The Ker40+, a highly competitive yacht for offshore racing, underwent various modifications to comply with changing IRC rules and to enhance performance. The most important of these modifications was the new keel fin.
The keel was produced from AISI 4340 steel, with a tensile strength exceeding 1100 MPa and superior mechanical properties thanks to specialized heat treatments. The finished keel was exported to the United States.
