KER40 – HOOLIGAN 2017 KEEL PROJECT
The Ker40, a highly competitive and suitable yacht for offshore racing, underwent various modifications to comply with changing IRC rules and to improve performance. The most important of these modifications was the new keel fin.
The keel was produced from AISI 4340 steel, featuring a tensile strength exceeding 1100 MPa and superior mechanical properties due to specialized heat treatments. The finished keel was exported to the United States.
